Why “turf management”?

A nice cut isn’t the same ashealthy turf.

Most yards on a “mow-blow-go” route get a clean cut and slowly thin out year over year. The lawn looks fine in May, browns out in July, and the homeowner blames the summer.

Real turf management is what happens between the cuts: pre-emergent timed to soil temperature, fertilization that matches the grass type, aeration that opens up Houston clay so the roots can actually breathe.

  • Soil-aware. Houston gumbo clay needs a specific approach — liquid aeration over plug aeration, watering deep and infrequent.
  • Grass-type-aware. St. Augustine and bermuda want different mow heights, different feeding, different summer strategies.
  • Calendar-aware. Pre-emergent in February. Aeration in April. Winterizer in October. Each step has a window — miss it and you lose the year.

What I do

Eight services onone schedule.

Pick mowing only, the full turf-management program, or anything in between. The point is the inputs line up — fert times itself to mowing, aeration times itself to fert.

Weekly Mowing

Same morning, every week. Sharp blade, height set for the season, and the walks blown clean before I leave.

starts at $45 · per visit

Fertilization Program

Six-step seasonal feed scheduled to North-Houston turf — pre-emergent in February, summer-safe nitrogen in May, winterizer in October.

starts at $65 · per visit

Liquid Aeration

Spring soil-loosening pass — opens up Houston clay so roots, water, and nutrients actually get down to where they matter.

starts at $145 · per visit

Edging & Trimming

Crisp blade-edged borders along beds, walks, and drives — and string-trim around fences, posts, and trees.

quoted on-site

Bed Maintenance

Hand-pull weeds, prune at the right time, and keep the ornamentals looking like someone tends them.

starts at $85 · per visit

Mulch Installation

Hardwood, cedar, or dyed black — installed at the right depth so the beds look fresh and the weeds give up.

starts at $95 · per visit

Leaf Cleanup

starts at $220 · per visit

How it works

Three steps,no hassle

We try to make hiring us boring in the best way — predictable, quiet, easy to explain to your spouse.

  1. Walk the property

We come out, listen to what you want, and look at what the lawn actually needs. No high-pressure quotes, no surprises.

  2. Quote on the spot

You get a flat per-visit price the same day. That number is what shows up on the invoice — no add-ons.

  3. Same crew, every week

Once we start, the same two-person crew shows up the same morning every week. Quiet, on-time, gate latched.

In their words

What customers say

Long-time customers in Spring, Kingwood, and The Woodlands who put up with me showing up the same morning every week.

ALPHA Turf transformed my lawn. Will showed up when he said he would, and a few weeks in the grass was visibly greener and thicker than the neighbor’s. Easy to text, fair on price.

Used Will for the spring fert + aeration combo on a half-acre in Harrington Trails. He explained why he was front-loading nitrogen now versus waiting. Lawn held up through the July heat better than any year I can remember.

Jennifer S.

via Nextdoor

Switched from a big crew that rotated guys every week. With Will it’s the same person every Tuesday, the gate gets latched, the walks get blown. He texts if rain pushes me to Wednesday. Exactly what I wanted.

Good to know

Frequently asked

  • Both, but the point of the name is the second one. Mowing keeps a lawn neat — fertilization, pre-emergent, aeration, and seasonal timing are what actually make the grass thicker, greener, and more drought-resistant year over year. I do all of it on one schedule so the inputs line up.
