Why “turf management”?
A nice cut isn’t the same ashealthy turf.
Most yards on a “mow-blow-go” route get a clean cut and slowly thin out year over year. The lawn looks fine in May, browns out in July, and the homeowner blames the summer.
Real turf management is what happens between the cuts: pre-emergent timed to soil temperature, fertilization that matches the grass type, aeration that opens up Houston clay so the roots can actually breathe.
- Soil-aware. Houston gumbo clay needs a specific approach — liquid aeration over plug aeration, watering deep and infrequent.
- Grass-type-aware. St. Augustine and bermuda want different mow heights, different feeding, different summer strategies.
- Calendar-aware. Pre-emergent in February. Aeration in April. Winterizer in October. Each step has a window — miss it and you lose the year.

- Both, but the point of the name is the second one. Mowing keeps a lawn neat — fertilization, pre-emergent, aeration, and seasonal timing are what actually make the grass thicker, greener, and more drought-resistant year over year. I do all of it on one schedule so the inputs line up.
- Yes. St. Augustine wants higher mow heights (3.5–4"), more shade tolerance, and lighter nitrogen in summer to avoid burn and chinch-bug pressure. Bermuda likes a closer cut (1.5–2.5"), more iron in summer, and harder fall winterizing. Most yards in Spring/Kingwood are one or the other — I’ll tell you which on the first walk-through.
- Core pulls plugs of soil out — effective but messy, and rough on shallow irrigation. Liquid aeration uses a soil-conditioning blend to break up clay and pore-space without the surface damage. In North Houston gumbo clay it works well and pairs cleanly with fertilization.
- Yes. The route runs Spring → The Woodlands → Kingwood/Humble → Porter/New Caney through the week. Most of those areas have an opening day; ask me which when you call.
- Monthly billing on a flat rate works for most people — invoiced on the 1st for the month ahead. Per-visit billing is fine too. No annual contracts, cancel any time.
- I push to the next dry day, usually within 24–48 hours, and I’ll text you so you’re not wondering. In a wet stretch I never skip — I just slide.
- Yes — fully insured and bonded. Happy to send the certificate if your HOA or property manager wants it on file.
